Anjelica Huston Plastic Surgery Before and After Botox and Cheek

Is Anjelica Huston Hollywood’s Latest Plastic Surgery Victim?

Anjelica Huston is gearing up to promote the second season of her television show Smash and it looks like she may have had a little plastic surgery before showtime.

61-year old Anjelica Huston has admitted to trying Botox and collagen as wrinkle reducers in the past, according to the Daily Mail.

She explained: ‘I went to a doctor who said, “Angelica, we have this wonderful new thing, it’s called Botox”.

‘He took a huge needle and plunged it into my third eye. The pain was something inexplicable. I gasped, I writhed and when I came to, I had a headache that lasted four days. A serious one.’

Botox may not have agreed with Anjelica, but it looks like she may have tried some other fillers, such as Juvederm, which has minimal Juvederm recovery to get rid of wrinkles and plump her signature high cheeks.

Anjelica looks like she either overdid the fillers, or allowed herself to be photographed from a highly unflattering angle as she resembles a favorite sci-fi star more than a star of the silver screen.

Anjelica Huston Plastic Surgery: Actress Is Almost Unrecognizable At 'Smash' Press Conference

Anjelica Huston is, undoubtedly, one of the most recognized faces in Hollywood she's spent most of her life in front of the camera and her striking features (her dark brown locks, prominent cheekbones and deep eyes) have captivated many a leading man, including Jack Nicholson.

But over the weekend, the statuesque star revealed a shocking new appearance at a press conference for her television show 'Smash' one that's a far cry from the natural look she once showcased on the pages of fashion magazines. At 61, it appears the star's chin has all but disappeared while her cheeks look oddly plump.

What's behind Huston's new appearance is unknown, the star has said she's sworn off plastic surgery after experiencing a botched Botox treatment a few years ago. It's rumoured she's had work done on her cheeks and chin.

Calling Out Anjelica Huston’s ‘Pillow Face’ Isn’t OK (Even If She’s Admitted To Plastic Surgery

Anjelica Huston has spoken openly about plastic surgery-including botox and collagen injections-but whatever interviews she’s given in the past about her looks, the Daily Mail‘s speculation about her looks at a recent showing of Smash in LA are still despicable. The headline alone is offensive: “Anjelica Huston, 61, becomes Hollywood’s latest pillow face victim as she displays her suspiciously plump cheeks,” it reads. But the article itself is nothing but an insult, embellished with past quotes about how she’s conformed to the Hollywood plastic surgery norm with age.

The Daily Mail’s only quotes from Huston were from previous interviews, in which she gave a less-than-glowing review of her history with cosmetic surgery:

‘I went to a doctor who said, “Angelica, we have this wonderful new thing, it’s called Botox”

It looks like Anjelica Huston is at plastic surgery again.  The before & after photo reveals that she had a facelift, Botox injections, & facial fillers.  The skin around her eyes, jaw line, & forehead are dramatically tightened.  Also, the volume of her cheeks are much fuller than she when she was younger.  Here's Anjelica Huston before and after cosmetic surgery.

‘He took a huge needle and plunged it into my third eye. The pain was something inexplicable. I gasped, I writhed and when I came to, I had a headache that lasted four days. A serious one.’

The rest of the article just details what her skin, neck, and face look like in the press photos they’ve centered the article around; it barely mentions why she was at the event where they were taken.

We’ve got plenty to say about why headlines like these are damaging, but one of the best summaries comes from an actress who has experienced similar insults from the press. Back when her own “puffy face” was the subject of headlines, Ashley Judd responded directly with a great argument for why everyone needs to check their participation in a culture that scrunizes women (and yes, celebrities and Hollywood actresses) for their looks:

If this conversation about me is going to be had, I will do my part to insist that it is a feminist one, because it has been misogynistic from the start. Who makes the fantastic leap from being sick, or gaining some weight over the winter, to a conclusion of plastic surgery? Our culture, that’s who. The insanity has to stop, because as focused on me as it appears to have been, it is about all girls and women. In fact, it’s about boys and men, too, who are equally objectified and ridiculed, according to heteronormative definitions of masculinity that deny the full and dynamic range of their personhood. It affects each and every one of us, in multiple and nefarious ways: our self-image, how we show up in our relationships and at work, our sense of our worth, value, and potential as human beings.
